In every type of design, could it be logo, web, or print, there are numerous steps in the whole process. From gathering initial information, to the planning and development of your website, and finally to maintenance to keep your web site up to date.
The first step in any type of design process is to gather information which can help us understand your brand and goals as a company and to create the most optimal and reasonable quote for your demands. If the quote is accepted we can then focus on the details about your business and its philosophy so we can customize a design which utilizes the web to achieve your company's vision. It's also important for us to know about your target audience, so we can develop a strategy most appropriate for your business model. We will work with you to gather images, text, and logos that you want to be a part of your newly designed website.
Using the information gathered from STEP 1, we will put together a project outline with a production plan. With your help, we will develop a list of all main topic areas for the site as well as complimentary sub-topics. We will use it as a guide to develop a consistent and easily usable navigational system which is essential for a great user friendly web site. During the planning phase, we will also help you decide what other technologies and products should be implemented as part of the whole package.
The design phase focuses around the creative "look and feel" implementation of your company's identity. It is important to embody elements such as the company logo and/or colors to help strengthen the identity of your company on the web site or with any other design elements. The target audience is one of the key factors taken into consideration when designing web sites. Clean, user-friendly layouts are created to make sure all elements of design are in the most appropriate places. We'll incorporate your content and ideas into an initial draft of your site, and we will notify you when the prototypes (usually 2-3) are ready for your review. These are typically a .jpg images with a rough draft of what the final design will look like. At this point you will have an opportunity to express your likes and dislikes on the design and can request to make appropriate changes to the design.
After reviewing the initial design prototypes, we will make revisions based on the feedback you provide us. Once you've chosen a final design layout, we will prepare and clean out the files for your final review. Each package comes with two rounds of revisions. We believe by having conversations and talking about each revision we will be able to effectively exceed your expectations.
At this stage we develop and optimize web pages per the final design you've chosen to maximize functionality. This includes incorporating content and accessibility for large audiences. Essentially, this is where the 'dirty work' is done. This includes creating the code required to support the style sheet and style guides to establish consistency across the entire site and to optimize graphics for fast loading without compromising quality. We create a 'shell' template for the main navigational structure which will help us as we distribute content throughout the site. We also implement any special elements such as contact forms, galleries, etc. During the whole process we will make your in-progress web site available to you for pre-viewing, so you can suggest any additional small changes or corrections you would like to have done.
During the delivery stage, we will attend to any final detail changes and test your web site to make sure all scripts and programming are fully functional. Testing ensures your web site is optimized to be viewed properly in the most recent web browser versions. We will also double check all of the code written for your web site validates to ensure your site meets the current web development standards. Once you give us your final approval, it is time to deliver the site. As your web site is uploaded to the server, the site will be put through one last run-through. This is just precautionary, to confirm that all the files have been uploaded correctly, and that the site continues to be fully functional. This marks the official launch of your site, as it is now viewable to the public.
The development of your web site is not necessarily over, though. One way to bring repeat visitors to your site is to offer new content or products on a regular basis. After the whole process of creating a web site for your company is completed we can discuss about possibilities of an affordable maintenance package.
